Standard Student Birth Doula Package:

Student doulas are working towards their certification and are typically newly trained, less experienced, and often less confident. They are trying to find their voice and space as a doula through experience. Please don’t base your decision to hire a student doula solely on financial motivation. This is a huge investment you’re making into your life and your baby’s life. While the fee may be substantially lower, ultimately I want you to be happy with your doula care.

We do our best to guide and mentor the student doulas we work with, but it’s important for you to know that they will be attending your birth alone with you and your partner(s), and we feel that is an important factor to consider when looking for free/volunteer/low cost births. The women who do them typically are doing them just long enough to gain some experience and confidence.
