Indoor Playgrounds/Playlands/Kid Friendly Spaces:

Munchkin Playland
In Beaverton (185th and West Union) and for the little ones (under 42″) to play while Mamas can drink coffee and have a snack, as well as a traditional kids meal menu.

Bullwinkle’s Family Fun Center
Located in Wilsonville. They have mini golf, go carts bumper boats, batting cages, a rock climbing wall, and a sky trail outside and inside they have laser tag, a cybercoaster, a flog hopper, an indoor play land, and an arcade. Little was bouncing up and down as I was researching their web page. I can tell this is the kind of place a rising first grader wants to go to. I’m not sure about the little ones. Seems like a big kid place.

Safari Sam’s
For the Sherwood Mamas. Their claim to fame is the largest play structure in Oregon. It’s strong enough for parents to go in on an adventure with their children, too. They also have black light mini-golf, which kids think is pretty neato. And then you can put them in the bounce house and let them bounce their hearts out.

JJ Jump
Close to Clackamas Towne Center, it’s a big inflatable “bouncy house” place where your kids (preferably with a playmate or they’re going to not have as much fun) run and play and jump and bounce. I’ve taken Little there with friends once and it was good for a couple of hours. There wasn’t a lot of variety so they kind of ‘did it all’ and then I made them do it again because it costs $$. (I might take her again, but definitely not without a playmate, she would bore quickly.)

The Warehouse Cafe
More than just a kid friendly space to have coffee, it’s a part of PGP, a grassroots membership based network bringing together eco-minded families in Portland, OR and surrounding areas since 2007. Their mission is to connect, support, nourish and empower growing families who want to live sustainably and in community.

Juice Plus
I met with Beth Genly and before our meeting was over, I signed my entire family up for the Juice Plus system. I’m a believer, personally. Sure, it’s better to eat fruits, vegetables, and berries, but I’m a really business business owner Mama and there is a gap between what I know I should be buying and feeding myself and my family and the reality of what we’re eating.

This unique model allows new members to identify with women in various stages of recovery and treatment. Their support groups are strengthened as each member contributes to its existence and continuation. They provide information about the latest research and treatment of postpartum mood disorders to members and professionals alike.
